Congrats to our 2022 Hillcrest Elementary PTA Scholarship Recipient: Ashley Elizabeth Reynolds
Ashley is a senior at Downers Grove South High School and President of the National Honor Society. Ashley will be attending Miami University of Ohio this fall and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in social justice. Ashley is an all around fantastic student who is active in several extracurricular activities including Math Team, Key Club – Kiwanis Educates Youth, Model United Nations, Spanish Club, and a Literacy Center Tutor.
Ashley has been a Girl Scout since she was a young Daisy at Hillcrest. Now as a Girl Scout Senior Ambassador, she is working on her Gold Award with gym teachers in District 58, specifically Mr. Gilbert at Hillcrest, to start a new nutrition and health based curriculum in PE. Her Bronze Award was working with her troop to create the book library and butterfly garden that was added to the school near the intersection of Dunham and Jefferson.
Ashley has also enjoyed volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, Ronald McDonald House, and the West Suburban Community Food Pantry. Congratulations Ashley!
$1,000 to a Qualifying High School Senior

Each year, one Hillcrest Elementary alumnus will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to supplement tuition or other educational needs. Representatives of the Hillcrest Elementary PTA choose the recipient based upon a holistic set of criteria.
To qualify, a senior must:
- Have attended Hillcrest Elementary School for a minimum of three years
- Be graduating from an Illinois high school
- Have already received acceptance to a college, university, or vocational program
